Special: No significant increase in stats nor gives additional protection when used with Shield Rod (Down, Down, Forward, Forward + Square and Circle buttons).
Location: In the Clock Tower in Main Castle’s Marble Gallery, use the clock sub-weapon skill to open the hidden passage on the top right corner. Go up and head right to get the Alucart Shield.
2) Leather Shield
Leather shield - low DEF.
Buy: $400
Stats: DEF +1
Special: Increases the DEF when used with Shield Rod (Down, Down, Forward, Forward + Square and Circle buttons).
Location: From the bottom right Save Room in Main Castle’s Alchemy Laboratory, just head 1 room left. You’ll end up in a huge area full of Blood Skeletons, Bone Scimitars and an Axe Knight. Head to the farthest bottom left and break the smoking alchemy apparatus on a table to obtain the Leather Shield.
3) Knight Shield
Armored knight’s shield.
Buy: N/A
Stats: DEF +2
Special: Increases the ATK when used with Shield Rod (Down, Down, Forward, Forward + Square and Circle buttons).
Location: From the left Save Room in Main Castle’s Colosseum, head right and up. You’ll end up in the area just next to the arena, where you have to fought Richter’s minions. Head to the leftmost portion of that place and step on the switch that opens the mechanical wall in front. The Knight Shield is just next to that mechanical wall.
4) Iron Shield
Hard iron shield.
Buy: $3980
Stats: DEF +2
Special: Temporarily makes Alucard invincible when he blocks an attack. When used with Shield Rod (Down, Down, Forward, Forward + Square and Circle buttons), it summons a swordsman who will throw 2 great swords in front.
Location: Iron Shield is an item drop of Winged Guard.
5) Axe Lord Shield
Favorite shield of Axe Lord.
Buy: N/A
Stats: DEF +3
Special: When used with Shield Rod (Down, Down, Forward, Forward + Square and Circle buttons), it summons an Axe Lord that rushes through in front while smashing the first enemy it encounters.
Location: Axe Lord Shield is an item drop of
Axe Lord.
6) Shaman Shield
Shield used in magic ritual.
Buy: N/A
Stats: DEF +4
Special: Increases the INT when used with Shield Rod (Down, Down, Forward, Forward + Square and Circle buttons).
Location: From the top Save Room in Main Castle’s Outer Wall, head right, down and 3 rooms left. You’ll end up in a huge open-air area in Clock Tower where Phantom Skulls, Skull Lords and Flail Skeletons guards the place. Head to the middle portion of the broken platforms where there are 3 notable pillars at the back. Transform into a Bat and fly above those pillars to obtain the Ice Mail, Bekatowa and Shaman Shield.
7) Skull Shield
Shield with Knight’s crest.
Buy: N/A
Stats: DEF +4
Special: When used with Shield Rod (Down, Down, Forward, Forward + Square and Circle buttons), it summons a skull that shoots beam.
Location: Skull Shield is an item drop of Skull Lord, Yorick and Bone Ark.
8) Goddess Shield
Engraved with goddess image.
Buy: N/A
Stats: DEF +4
Special: Adds extra protection against dark when used with Shield Rod (Down, Down, Forward, Forward + Square and Circle buttons).
Location: From the bottom left Save Room Inverted Castle’s Necromancy Laboratory, head right, top left and left. You’ll end up in a room with a shaft all the way up. Go to the middle right portion of that place and enter the next room. Inside, break the brown orb to obtain the Goddess Shield.
9) Herald Shield
Shield with heart crest.
Buy: N/A
Stats: DEF +4
Special: Adds extra protection against fire and thunder when used with Shield Rod (Down, Down, Forward, Forward + Square and Circle buttons). Also, it normally turns into hearts the damage caused by projectiles.
Location: From the waterfall area in Main Castle’s Underground Caverns, just head top left. Press the switch at the leftmost corner to break the bridge that you are standing on.After which, you can now obtain the Herald Shield.
10) Fire Shield
Shield with fire properties.
Buy: N/A
Stats: DEF +4
Special: Nullifies fire damage. When used with Shield Rod (Down, Down, Forward, Forward + Square and Circle buttons), it summons 3 fiery dragons that damage all nearby enemies they pass through.
Location: Fire Shield is an item drop of Fire Demon.
11) Medusa Shield
Gorgon headed shield.
Buy: N/A
Stats: ATK +13, DEF +1
Special: Nullifies petrify when Alucard equipped this shield. When used with Shield Rod (Down, Down, Forward, Forward + Square and Circle buttons), it summons a Medusa Head that shoots beam of light from its eyes and deals damage to enemies.
Location: Medusa Shield is an item drop of Medusa Head.
12) Dark Shield
Unholy dark shield.
Buy: N/A
Stats: ATK +10, DEF +3
Special: When used with Shield Rod (Down, Down, Forward, Forward + Square and Circle buttons), it summons specters that damage all enemies.
Location: Dark Shield is an item drop of Malachi.
13) Alucard Shield
Strong vs. all attacks.
Buy: N/A
Stats: DEF +5
Special: When used with Shield Rod (Down, Down, Forward, Forward + Square and Circle buttons), it boosts Alucard’s stats and adds extra protection from elemental damage. It also replenishes HP when the shield is used to hit enemies or candelabra. Alucard Shield is the strongest shield in the game. It can cause tremendous damage in all types of foes except for those invincible, like the Stone Skull. The shield’s power is not limited on normal enemies but can also destroy the toughest bosses, such as Galamoth and Dracula himself.
Location: From the waterfall area in Inverted Castle’s Reverse Cavern, just head top right and 3 areas directly to the farthest right to obtain the Alucard Shield.
